This image reveals the micro-contours around Fulford
You can learn a lot from maps and special photographs, such as this one.
This laser-topographical map shows the break in the glacial moraine through which Germany Beck flows, draining the extensive hinterland. The paleo channels, which are places where rivers used to flow, can also be identified. These 'rivers' have now been filled but they used to drain the wet land on the bottom right area of the image.
